Prevention of Bird Collisions to Reflective Wall of Building

This post office processing building had a full city block of black reflective spandrel panel curtain wall glass facing a park. As a result, this site had over 400 bird collision fatalities over the course of each year. To resolve this problem, SurfaceCare, working with the post office and New York City Audubon, applied a specialty exterior vinyl black matte signage film to the exterior glass on all 440 (8′ by 5′) panels of glass. The results were successful and bird collisions have been eliminated.
